Financial Responsibility

Agua Viva International was incorporated in 2011 in Kansas, where we remain in good standing. A section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, Agua Viva holds the coveted Platinum Guidestar rating, the highest rating available for nonprofit organizations. More than 93% of donations are used directly for our stated mission. Agua Viva has no debt or employees.

Our mission work is sustainable because it is based upon the continuing education of trained, in-country health and hygiene teachers and water purification system operators. By enabling the indigenous people of our partner communities to lift themselves up, Agua Viva develops enduring friendships and improved and lasting health outcomes.

In addition, we believe in financial responsibility for our partner communities. They are required to report ongoing purified water production and community health and hygiene events to Agua Viva and to maintain a micro-business to sustain their operations far into the future.

Transparency is our pledge to our donors, volunteers and partner communities. Tax returns and financial statements are linked below.
